With its year-round sunshine and diverse landscape, being active outdoors in South Walton is as convenient as anywhere in the world. And when we do get the occasional gray sky, our shopping and dining options make a day spent indoors just as entertaining.
Along our gulf coastline is an extensive network of beach-accessible, environmentally sound artificial reefs.
South Walton offers dozens of beach and bay accesses. All regional beach accesses use flags to indicate surf conditions and some even have lifeguards on duty for part of the year. Several area bay accesses include boat ramps as well.
Our state parks are situated alongside the gulf water and dune lakes and offer camping sites, picnic areas, RV spaces, and cabin rentals.
Point Washington State Forest is comprised of more than 27 miles of distinct trails that corral into three separate trail systems. This beautiful natural amenity affords visitors and locals a chance to spend part of their time near the water and part of their time in the woods.
